Timings:
Birla Planetarium Hyderabad timings are from 11:30 am to 8 pm on all days. However the planetarium remains closed on the last Thursday of every month. Also on the 2nd and last Friday of the month, the planetarium opens after 3 pm for maintenance purposes.
Entry fee:
Birla Planetarium Hyderabad tickets are priced at Rs 150 for only the museum. For the Planetarium and the Science Museum visit the ticket price is Rs. 250. And for a visit to the Planetarium, Science Museum and Art Gallery the ticket price is Rs. 325.

There are special sky shows in Birla Planetarium Hyderabad in three different languages like English, Telugu and Hindi. Duration of the show is about 35 minutes. The timings are

About Birla Planetarium Hyderabad
Located in Naubat Pahad, Birla Planetarium in Hyderabad is one of the popular spots for sightseeing in the city. This was inaugurated in 1985, 8th September by N. T Rama Rao. There are three Birla Planetariums in India, the other two being in Kolkata and Chennai. The main aim for building a space like this was to bridge a gap between science and general masses. Furthermore, the main idea behind building the planetarium was to educate the masses regarding various scientific facts and scientific discoveries and developments in the recent past. This planetarium was developed with the help of Japanese technologies from Japan. It is also an extended wing of the Birla Science Centre.
The planetarium is a beautiful dome shaped structure built in the heart of the city of Hyderabad. They not only educate the masses but also use unique ways and international standard techniques to present their ideas. Most of the tools and techniques used here are compared to that of US, Japanese and European techniques. Dinosaurium in Birla Planetarium Hyderabad
One of the main attractions and the newest addition to the planetarium is the Dinosaurium that was added in the year 2000. This is a gallery where various fossils are displayed. The most important one is the rarest fossil of a dinosaur Kotasauraus which belongs to the Jurassic age. The fossil is approximately 160 million years old. 14 metres in length and 5 metres in height, this rare fossil attracts a lot of visitors here.
You can also find other rare collections of fossils here like fossils of dinosaur eggs, marine shells and fossils of tree trunks etc. A lot of these fossils are collected from Telangana’s Adilabad district. Later they were maintained by the Geological Survey of India before they were placed in the Birla Planetarium.
Birla Planetarium Hyderabad Sky Show
This is undoubtedly the most attractive feature of this planetarium. The sky show takes place in the sky theatre. For the past 30 years this show has been featured here. Every year, the topic of the sky show changes. Various scientific discoveries, scientific approaches and scientific theories are explained here. The topics range from the planets, comets, eclipses etc. Every year they show a different show with different names. The first ever show shown here was based on the Universe and it was named as the Astounding Universe. \
